For everyone who thinks you need a full custom rifle and hand loads to get consistency…
This is factory Hornady ELD Match out of my @seekinsprecision_official PH3 NRL producing extremely low SDs and very consistent velocity spreads.
Modern factory ammo has come a long way, and when you pair it with a well-built rifle like the PH3 NRL, the results speak for themselves.
Consistency like this makes things a lot easier when you start stretching distance.

This past weekend I really put my @eberlestock gear to work—and it performed at every level.
I’m running the Mission Assault Pack mounted to the Mission EMOD Frame, and the combination is both comfortable and incredibly stable under load. With the abundance of MOLLE webbing, you can dial in the configuration to fit exactly what you need for the mission.
I also added the Mission ARC, which allowed me to secure my rifle and keep my hands free when we had to cover longer ground between stages. That setup made a huge difference over the course of the weekend.
For my binos, I’m using the Bravo Modular Bino Pack. I’ve run several versions of Eberlestock bino harnesses over the years, and this one is easily the best yet—solid, functional, and well thought out.
Eberlestock gear is tried, tested, and purpose-built for the job.

Hump day and already thinking about the next one.
@nrlhunter match #2 for me this season is coming up this weekend at The Arena in Georgia. Looking forward to another weekend of tough stages, good friends, and seeing what the terrain and conditions throw at us.
One thing I know I can rely on is my @seekinsprecision_official PH3 NRL rifle. It’s reliability, accuracy and consistency let’s me focus on reading the wind, building solid positions, and managing the clock.
Now it’s time to pack the gear and get ready to send it.

The tripod is one of the most valuable pieces of gear in my pack.
On this stage, a lot of shooters tried using the branch for support—but it was bouncy and unstable.
Using a tripod—either as rear support or by clamping the rifle—creates a far more stable shooting platform. That added stability translates directly into better accuracy and greater effective range.
@michael_berger21 & I spent a lot of time training with the tripod and it paid off big for both of us. During this weekend’s match, I used my tripod as a rifle support on more than half of the stages. Without it, the match would have been a completely different experience.
I know there are still plenty of traditionalists—especially in the hunting world—who shy away from using a tripod. But once you learn how to use one effectively, it can completely change your shooting.
I’m still learning how to deploy it more efficiently myself, and there were definitely a few things in this stage where I could improve my tripod use. That’s part of the process.

Possibly the most physically demanding match I’ve shot to date.
We covered roughly 13 miles over two days with some serious climbs along the way. A late Saturday rain turned day two into a muddy grind, and the weekend definitely tested both us and our gear.
I was fortunate to shoot alongside some great competitors—and even better humans. Huge thanks to my shooting partner @michael_berger21 for helping keep my head straight when I needed it.
The stages forced us into some tough positions and required plenty of out-of-the-box thinking.
I left that mountain a better shooter.
